Miller Couse has served as a Director since 1978 and has been affiliated with First Bank since 1974. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board and brings decades of leadership and institutional knowledge, with experience spanning executive management and commercial lending.

Mr. Couse has held several key roles at the Bank, including President and Chief Executive Officer, and continues to serve as a part-time Commercial Loan Officer. His long tenure has contributed significantly to the Bank’s growth and stability.

In addition to his banking career, Mr. Couse is actively involved in agriculture as the owner of Couse Farms and a part owner of Gram & Couse Farms, specializing in sugarcane and sod production.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Florida and is a graduate of the LSU School of Banking. Mr. Couse also served in the United States Army in Military Intelligence.

Mr. Couse has a long history of community and industry involvement. His service includes the Clewiston Museum, Lions Club, Agape Home, the advisory board for the Clewiston Golf Course, Cross Training Ministries, and the Florida Gulf Coast University Foundation Board of Directors. He also previously served as Chairman of the Florida Bankers Association Board.
